Modelling of creep and swelling with Bayesian updating of parameters

I am happy to announce that a paper as part of my PhD research was accepted by Geotechnique. You can find the paper here. I have also released the associated code as the evspy package.

The paper presents a new model that allows interaction of creep and swelling. To evaluate the model and to fit it reliably to the available laboratory tests, Markov Chain Monte Carlo is used, using emcee. Thanks to the Bayesian approach, the uncertainty on the model parameters is tracked and the reliability of (field) predictions can be quantified.
